Voyages of Ocean Explorer
2002 - Northern Lake Michigan
Introduction
In the spring and summer of 2002 my wife, Donna, and I had obligations which prevented us from going cruising until August. Ocean Explorer was kept in indoor storage until just prior to our departure. Due to the limited time we had available, we spent what time we had in northern Lake Michigan. We decided to spend some time in places we had not been before. We had crossed the mouth of Traverse Bay many times in our sojourns to northern and eastern waters, but we had never taken the time to dip down into the bay to sample the cruising that is available in that area. In 2002, we took that time and discovered a lot of delightful cruising country.
What follows is the e-mail log that we sent to family and friends as our trip progressed. The e-mail system is described in the introduction to the 2001 trip. As per usual, Donna did the photography and I did the writing.
