This animal ranges from Oregon to Baja California. It can grow up to 2 inches, but usually closer to ½ inch. Like other nudibranchs, its color is influenced by its diet. This one prefers waters of calm bays and harbors, feeding primarily on branching and encrusting bryozoans. It’s often reported to be found, lighter in color, the farther south they are, likely due to changes in available food sources.
