Anchovy are small fish, which make them good food for larger animals. Anchovy swim in big groups, because it’s safer in larger numbers. They are food for pelicans, whales and humans. Sometimes, dolphins and sea lions will hunt them offshore, so they come into the harbor where it’s safe.
