Most animals, in the harbor, eat a variety of meat and vegetables. This snail though only eats meat. It uses its big foot (as seen here, pink around the shell), digging deep into the sand, to find clams. Once it gets a clam, it has a special tube for feeding. You may have walked on the beach, and found a clam shell, with a perfect little hole in it, making it great for a necklace. Chances are good that hole was made by a moon snail and that shell is all that’s left from its dinner.
