Tough and strong, these crabs are comfortable pushing things around in their search for food. They make an impression, watching them move and dig the bottom for worms, fish, or even other crabs. Their powerful claws can crush shells, in order to get at the meal inside. In a short amount of time, they can turn over a large area like a farmer, digging up potatoes. These crabs are good for human consumption too. They are similar to the dungeness crab, commonly found at the market. However, their tough shells make dinner a bit more work.
