Fluted Bryozoan

This is actually a colony of tiny animals, called zooids. If you look closely, each tiny circle on the surface, is the home of one animal. They pack side by side, to form this beautiful shape. If you are walking on the beach and find a kelp leaf, you may have noticed a spot on it that looks like snake skin. It’s actually a dried bryozoan skeleton.
