Here is a feather duster worm. This worm is special because it makes a hard shelled tube around its body out of calcium. The little hairs, on the long feathery branches, move like the belt, at a grocery store check-out, moving food from the water to its mouth at the center. The trumpet shaped part is a hard plug, which covers the animal's tube when it pulls itself into its protective tube.
